Hi Ian,

I don't know whether they still do, but NAB branches definitely used to
use OS/2.

Mike

Hi John,

Actually the author is well aware that it lives on in eComStation - he
actually installed it on his TP41 [IIRC] a couple of years back or so -
but had a few problems with drivers/configuration!

Mike

Hi All

Thought you guys might enjoy this. They have certainly ranked some of
M$ moments up there at the top. The links in the page display some
youtube videos covering Bill Gates and his COMDEX presentation with
W98 (BSOD) and one of the best being what the author calls "Monkey boy
runs amok".

Subject: Moving program objects between systems

Hi,

can anyone recommend a program or process to tranfer program objects
from an OS/2 Warp 4 desktop to an eCS 2.0 (rc2) desktop on the same
system (just a different partition) ? Simply dragging and dropping does
not work.

Cheers/2

Ed.

Hi All,

Thanks for the info everyone, much appreciated. If anyone
else comes across or thinks of any keep it rolling. This is for
the purpose of finding out if these companies still using OS/2
can be "transitioned" to a higher plane, like OS/2 beyond
v2.xx !

I know that Westpac and NAB "transitioned" off many years ago now,
so I'd be suprised if Bank of Melbourne (Wespac took over) were
still using OS/2 but will find out.
(remember I'm an ex IBM and NCR contractor :-))

I know Coles-Myer also use to use OS/2 for backend and POS
but havent seen any PS/2 in there department stores since about
2000 but obviously there still out there so will also follow that one
up.

Cheers

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

Unimaint :-)

The other way I've done it in the past was to rar up c:\desktop, unrar
it on d:\ on the other PC, then open the D:\desktop and drap and drop,
so I'm surprised that it doesnt work for you unless your not coping
attributes/EA's for some reason.

Mind you though, both those systems were originally unrar'ed from
the same image so the desktop ID would have been the same in both
to start with so I wonder if thats the problem.

Ed, try PSaver from this utility pack
www.kepl dot com dot au/esstu/default.htm
called "esstu" - it sounds better than it looks :-)

Son Christopher packaged up a bunch of his OS/2 utilities.

Until recently Woolworths used OS/2 in each woolies store - they
recently upgraded pc systems to latest ibm systems using win xp.
