The "Diagnostics" came on cassette.  There were a couple of very
short lived attempts to try to market cassette software.

Somebody made a software package to transfer files from 5150 to
5150 through the cassette port.  Within weeks, the XT came
out (no cassette port) and that ended that.

BTW, IBM apparently NEVER sold a cable for it!  But the pinout matched the
TRS-80 cassette cable.

Yes, but not for long.
