Thanks, Tony, that's some very useful information.  I was intending to use 3M Scotch 77 spray contact adhesive.  

Do you have any advice on the least-damaging way to free the bezel from its currently stuck-on state?  I want to avoid creases, so some way to soften the existing adhesive would be very nice indeed.
