You want to talk about silly, look at the price of Roland TB-303s on 
eBay.  I saw a broken one sell for £400 the other day.

And to think, back when I was in school, before the early days of acid 
house, I passed one up, boxed, used once, for £25.  Because I just 
wasn't into synthesizers then.
