   Probably.  At least among the geeks I know it is.

   I played violin (parents' choice) and steel guitar (my choice) as a 
teenager, but after high school my lifestyle was too mobile to keep up 
with instruments.

   I love singing, too, and when I worked in the West Texas oilpatch, my 
crewmates always told me I should sing tenor.

   Tenor twelve miles down the road, they meant.  :)
