I saw this in the technical manual for the Century Data disk drives I 
posted on here about a few weeks ago.

Are they referring to IBM 3330 type drives?  That was my first guess, but 
I couldn't decide if that's what they meant, or if there was something 
else that they were referring to, since it didn't say "IBM 3330" just 
"3330".
