The drives are HP drives which were OEMed by IBM, Tandem, Sun, Pyramid, etc.
They are high quality, reliable and readily available (at least here in
Silicon Valley). I own two of them - both being purchased with the last
couple of years for $25 each - and both are in near perfect condition.
Unfortunately, mine only support 1600 and 6250 bpi.
I'll keep my eyes open for the Qualstar - but I've never seen one available
from any of the local dealers or scrappers.
