Which is what they did to a TRS80 Model 3 my missus brought back from the
US for me....I think they juggled with it first before throwing it, given
the state it was in when I got it.

The thickness is down to the SCSI layer underneath the main player.
They're very sensitive to heat as well, even my good working one decided
to throw a hissy fit at the last exhibition I did 2 weeks ago which meant
I had to manually spin the platter at exactly the right time to get it to
spin up since the electronics couldn't do that themselves :o\

Of course, these days there's a fairly good web version but I can't find
the email I've got that has the URL......typical....
