nope. it should be step and repeat for the entire sheet, once I 
understand how to set up
all the parameters.

the device is not a fiche reader with scanner bolted on. it is an x/y 
table with adjustable
lens and imaging array. there's a pci motherboards buried inside 
running DOS, which we backed
up a couple days ago.
