Dallas clock battery

   ISTR somebody recently mentioned soldering battery leads to two legs 
of a Dallas CMOS clock chip.  Does that ring any bells?

   I'm fiddling with a Compaq SLT/286 whose Dallas module is very dead. 
  I'd like to fix it.
