Status Page

The Status page provides at-a-glance information about your server's hardware. The Component Status Legend table (shown by default) describes the various status icons you may see for components. Select the information you want from the System Components or System Management lists on the left side. Click on a topic below for more information:

 Note Depending upon your server's model, you may or may not see all of the topics described here.

Memory Status page

Clicking the Memory link from the Status page takes you to the Memory Status page. This page shows a snapshot status of memory modules in the server. This includes the following tables:

Memory Advisory page

Clicking the slot label listed in the Installed Memory table will bring you to the Memory Advisory page. This page provides detailed information on the specific memory module and its status. Though much of the same information on the Memory Status page may be found here, this page also includes:

Storage Status page

Clicking the Mass Storage link from the Status page takes you to the Storage Status page. This page shows a snapshot status of the mass storage in the server. This includes the following tables:

Disk Advisory page

Clicking the disk product ID listed in the Disks table will bring you to the Disk Advisory page. This page provides detailed information on the specific disk drive and its status. Though much of the same information on the Storage Status page may be found here, this page also includes:

Locating a Failed Disk

If the problem resolution includes removing a hot swap drive, click the LOCATE button to get help on specifically identifying the drive to be removed. The Disk Drive Locator Wizard will run and, depending upon its ability to access the controller/device hardware, allow you to:

Once you've identified the drive, click the Finish button to stop flashing the LED(s). If you don't press Finish or Cancel, the LED(s) will stop flashing automatically after 3 minutes.

System Hardware

Clicking the System Hardware link from the Status page takes you to the System Hardware Events page. This page provides a list of server hardware events collected in the server's System Event Log that don't relate to memory, mass storage, or power supplies. Information includes event severity, error code, a short description of the problem and the time the error was logged. Clicking the error code hyperlink listed in the code column will display a more detailed description of the problem and what to do about it.

Power Supply

Clicking the Power Supply link from the Status page takes you to the Power Supply Status page. This page shows a snapshot status of hotswap power supplies in the server. This includes the following tables:

Temperature

Clicking the Temperature link from the Status page takes you to the Temperature Sensors Status page. This page shows a snapshot status of the current temperature readings for each of the temperature sensors in the server. This includes the following tables:

Voltage

Clicking the Voltage link from the Status page takes you to the Voltage Sensors Status page. This page shows a snapshot status of the current voltages of boards in the system that are monitored with voltage sensors. This includes the following tables:

Fan Speed

Clicking the Fan Speed link from the Status page takes you to the Fan Speed Sensors Status page. This page shows a snapshot status of the current fan speeds in the system that are monitored with sensors. This includes the following tables:

Event Log

Clicking the Event Log link from the Status page takes you to the event log page. This page shows a snapshot of all events (defined as changes to the status of the server) currently stored in the server's System Event Log. Information includes event severity, error code, a short description of the problem and the time the error was logged. Clicking the error code hyperlink listed in the code column will display a more detailed description of the problem and advice on what to do about it.

 Note Agents software shipped with your HP NetServer and required for HP TopTools Device Manager and HP TopTools AutoAlert are not required for Instant TopTools. However, with the agents software installed you will be able to receive additional events otherwise not obtainable except through HP TopTools Device Manager or TopTools AutoAlert. For more about agent software, refer to the HP TopTools for Servers Administrator Guide or the Agents readme file under the Manage\Server subdirectory on the HP NetServer Navigator CD.

 Warning In the upper right hand corner of this page is the Clear Event Log button. Clicking this button will, after a confirmation is asked for and received, delete all items stored in the hardware event log on the server.
