                             SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

DO NOT write on this diskette. Do not erase or rename any of the files on
it. It is your MASTER DISK. Keep it safe! Make backup copies of it right
away.

Please read the documentation that accompanies this disk, especially the five
lessons in the Tutorial. If you have the other Carousel Tools, this document
will fit into the User Manual for those Tools.

The special instructions for this product are as follows:

   1) If you run DOS version 2.X, copy and use the file MAKE.EXE. This
version of MAKE mentions "LMK V1.11" when it starts running. It can
recognize directory names and slash (/) and backslash (\) characters
within filenames. However, it cannot run on DOS version 1.X. This
version is described in the enclosed manual pages which mention "make
      (DOS 2)".

   2) On the other hand, if you sometimes run DOS version 1.X, copy and use
the file MAKE109.EXE. This version of MAKE mentions "LMK V1.09" when it
starts running. (You may want to call it MAKE.EXE, but beware of
confusion.) This version cannot handle DOS-2-style directory names, and
has a few bugs that were removed from version LMK1.11. Its only
advantage is that it can run under DOS 1.X, while version LMK1.11
can't. This version is described on separate manual pages.

   3) If you occasionally switch between DOS versions 1 and 2, it's OK to keep
both versions of MAKE available. They respond to the same commands. If
you run LMK1.11 on DOS 1.X, it will abort with an error message. If you
run LMK1.09 on DOS 2.X, it will work normally, but will not recognize
      DOS-2-style directory names.
