You can only track boats or vehicles that voluntarily give their
location to the system. I don't know if the Sydney Ferries do that or not.

Can you see any marked on the map it you navigate to Sydney Harbour. Of
course street view isn't going to be available for water born vessels!

Subject: Scroll bars on WPS

Hi,

All of a sudden on my eCS 2.0 RC6a environment, when I boot up, there
are scroll bars on the RHS and bottom of the screen - nothing is right
at the edge of the WPS and I have tried moving everything in a little to
no avail. I've tried changing screen resolution - again no change to the
situation.

I think if I go to an archive backup of the WPS, it will be OK, so
does anyone know what causes this problem?

Hi Ed,

If you have PMview installed, I believe it puts an "invisible" item on
the desktop for drag'n'drop! ;-)
Did you use the CTRL+Left_arrow/CTRL+Right_arrow to check if there was
something waaaay off the edges, in addition to page-up and page-down??

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,

PMView is installed but it has been installed "for ever" - so why did
it not cause this problem before ?

I have only scrolled up and across - so I'll reboot back to the
situation and try CTRL+Left_arrow/CTRL+Right_arrow to see it they find
anything.

CTRL+Left_arrow/CTRL+Right_arrow (and CRTL+up and down arrows) did
nothing (not even move the scroll bar).

Hi Ed,

Personally I haven't had PMView do that to me, but remembered others
mentioning having the problem.
I guess you did the usual trick of tiling/cascading to see if anything
"lost off-screen" shows up?

Mike

Yes tried that and what was strange is that when I took "normal" the
preview showed blank space left and right of the picture while on the
actual desktop the blank spae was above and below the picture !

Hi Ed,

I think we're on different pages here - where do you get to see a
preview? Sounds more like a PMView function than the WPS?

Mike

Hi Ed,

Obviously you misunderstood what I was referring to!
I was referring to the RMB on running programs in the CTRL-ESC window
list, where one can select TILE & CASCADE to retrieve items that are off
the screen video display!

Regards,
Mike

Oh, I see. OK, done that and two possible "culprits" were the command
window for the CUPS daemon and X-File (they both run "hidden"). I've
moved these now, so now I'll shutdown and see if that's fixed it.

Restoring a previous archive of the desktop did not fix it, so it could
well be something that is caused by objects started from the startup
folder - as are both X-File and eCUPS.
