John,

FireFox 3.5.1 for windows has been released and appears to work well here.

One of the issues with 3.5 was slow to load if all the temp folders were full.
That included the IE Temporary Internet cache folders as well (for some
unknown reason).

Also Windows FF users should get rid of the .NET Framework Assistant that
M$ have installed as a helper plugin to FF, since early Feb 2009.
Just a potential security issue AFAIK.

HTH,
Robert Traynor (BobT).

v 3.51 (for windows/mac/linux) is listed as the current version at
Mozilla, so you may want to upgrade your works copy and see if it plays
any better.

Do we know if anyone is compiling the 3.51 version for OS/2?

Hi Bob and thanks for the update.

PS: thanks to Ed too.

Where will I find the .NET Framework Assistant?

Anything that I can take out of my work computer is to the good.

Fully update your WinXP with Windows Update and it will allow a M$ fix to come down.
They have been pressured into doing this.!

After WU, the Add-ons Uninstall button in FireFox will no longer be greyed out and it
can be uninstalled at least from FireFox, if not from the Windows folder itself.

But, if you need to do it manually and/or you want to go as far as totally removing
the .NET Framework Assistant from Windows then have a look at the web sites info
below.

Annoyances dot org:-
Remove the Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant (ClickOnce) Firefox Extension
<http://annoyances dot org/exec/show/article08-600>

From M$ older info here:-
Update to .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 for the .NET Framework Assistant 1.0 for Firefox
