Hi,

Whether I use Firefox or Opera the following page causes the browser
to close after loading about 75% of the page - does anyone get this to
load under Os/2 or eCS ?

OK, Thanks.

I've just changed back from SeaMonkey to Firefox & Thunderbird, if I
find more of these sites I may have to switch back.

There's still something (IMHO) about stability of Browsers on OS/2 -
certainly the Mozilla based ones when compared to the Netscape Browsers
of a few years ago.

That's one of the reasons - although not the main one - why Flashblock
is such a popular Firefox addon.

(The main reason, I imagine, is that Flash advertising is so much more
annoying than other forms of advertising.)

For similar reasons, I use NoScript
http://noscript dot net/

Oh, and the page loads OK in my Firefox 1.0.0.6 with NoScript blocking
"untrusted sites".

Not at all, no flashy thing at that site

I do have Flash, but it doesn't matter as that site doesn't use Flash.
And yes, the site loads fine with SeaMonkey 1.1.7 (Weilbacher version)

Indidentally, it's easy to see if Flash is present or not, just do so,e
RMB click on the page. If Flash is there, you'll see a Flash popup menu.

Hi Kris,

What is strange then is that once I removed the flash code from the
plugins directory the page loaded ! I couldn't check anything previously
as the browser closed after loading about 75% of the page.

I'll see if adding the No-Script extension suggested by John helps.

Yep - that fixed it ! - Thanks John.

Why when I removed Flash support it loaded, I don't know except if
perhaps the unwanted pop up / incroacher used flash ??

In any case, now with flash back on and No_Script active, the page loads
clean and a message states that scripts have been blocked.

Cheers/2

Er, Kris, Ed's original point was that the page wasn't loading.

It would close the browser after about 75% of the page was downloaded but
none rendered.

So I infer there was no opportunity to RMB click.
