like it or dislike it, they have no right to block/reject legitmate traffic

as long as the mail comes from a valid host/domain/mx, i.e. satisfies
relevant RFCs, etc, they must accept it and deliver

if theyr'e are in breach, and not accept correct mail you can probably
list them on a black list

if they accept and not deliver, that's even worse, postmen get sacked for
that.

as an example, on MY mail server I refuse

non_fqdn_sender,
non_fqdn_recipient,
invalid_hostname,
non_fqdn_hostname,
unknown_sender_domain,
unknown_recipient_domain,

any mail that gets past, is checked against RBL black lists
any mail that gets past, is checked for malware, etc

any mail that doesn't get deliver for what ever reason, is listed and
notified to addresse, with reason for non-delivery

I would go complain really hard to your ISP, and, demand money back plus

Could someone please instruct me how to get
coloured text into an Impose creation. I can get the
text correctly in black but the inf file sort of indicates
it could be coloured. If it is not possible, could
Embellish do the trick?
I am trying to put the words Pinot Noir in garnet
colour into a wine lable design ;-)

Hi Mike,

I've never played with Impos/2 but I'm sure there is a way to do it.
Having said that, I *do *know that Embellish will do it with no problems
at all. Just save your Impos/2 file as a standard file (ie jpg or
tiff). Lossless compression TIFF files are better to use from a
grapho's perspective, but are a lot bigger than a jpg. Load it into
Embellish, open the all the tool pallets you need (Paints, Tools),
select the text tool and type away. Pick the fonts and sizes you want
from the text tool dialog, create text then your Paints pallet will
activate, choose the colour (or gradient if you want) then right click
on your text to apply shape. If I've left something out, over
simplified, or you already know how to drive Embellish you can threaten
me later ;-)

Cheers
G

Hi Alan

Your problem with the filters might be that you have them on a high
setting I found if you put them on a lower setting some spam will get
though , but depending which email client you are using you should be
able to train it to reject most of them and BTW os2.genau at os2 dot org dot au
is not the address there is no dot between os2 and the genau ie:
os2genau at os2 dot org dot au , and if this does not work log on to the web based
email at tpg and check to see if there are any messages there as the
system will not delete mail for up to 30days IRC , Then if that's not
working contact TPG and ask them, last time I talked to they seem quite
alright.

Terry

Just doing a clean out and have come across a few items I don't want -
free to a good home :-) Contact me off list if you're interested. It
all goes to the tip if no-one wants it.

7 x LS-120 disks (not drives, but disks) in good condition.
1 x HP DeskJet 520 - still working fine, near new ink cartridge.
1 x Canon S200SP printer - works fine, near new ink cartridges
1 x Toshiba 24 pin DM printer - works fine
6 x 16 bit ethernet boot ROMs
1 x Celeron 400 processor
1 x Pentium 100 processor

That'll do for a start. I'll add stuff as I dig deeper.

Cheers
Kev

Gavin,

Thanks very much. The Embellish program works a treat
just as you advised. I expect Impose/2 works similarly and
will fool around with it later; but for now I'll get the job done
with Embellish.

Does anyone have any MIB's for their Netfinity or ServeRAID Mibs?

Subject: Moz 1.7(.12?) Java Plugin Problems

Hi All,
I can not load applets even though the about:plugings shows:

IBM Java(TM) Plug-in: J2RE 1.3.1 IBM build co131-20041210

    File name: npoji6.dll
Java Plug-in 1.3.1 for Netscape Navigator (DLL Helper)

Can anyone make any suggestions? Does Java 1.31 need to be the default JRE
(ie DLL's in the default libpath) for this to work?

trying to reject 'spam' at the mail client is an exercise in futility, AFAIAC

and, ultimately, you pay for all that traffic
