Subject: Lotus SS 1.7 & Copyshop/2

Hi,

Having finally got a new system working with eCs 1.1 on board and most
of my applications I find that I am missing Lotus SS 1.72 CD. I have
searched everywhere. I know I had it because I have the upgrades for
1.72 on my Applications drive. At the moment I have installed Lotus 1.5
which I also bought.
I have a feeling that Lotus SS 1.7 also came with eCS 1.1 but can't see
it in the Application disk. Could someone advise me whether this was
so?... and if so how it can be installed?
I was able to change my AMD 64 processor and MB for an AMD XP 2600 +
Gigabyte 7VT600-RZ(-C) MB.
I bought a PCI SCSI card as my HP 4P Scanjet previously had an ISA SCSI
card. Fortunately a TWAIN driver now allows me to access the scanner via
PM View but Copyshop no longer works as it must have a specific HP SCSI
driver.
Has anyone been able to get COPYSHOP/2 working with a PCI SCSI card?

Regards,

Alan Duval

Hi - Copyshop will work - run the install program and select the option for your own SCSI
adapter rather than the HP option. It will work so long as you have already loaded your
own SCSI driver etc.

My version works with Adaptec PCI no problems.

Don't think so, unless you've purchased the full packege.

It's coming.

Do you mean we don't need scanos2.sys ??

CS/2 will work with just about any SCSI card, I have used it with ISA, PCI
and PCCard SCSI adapters. It will also work with other than supplied SCSI
scanner drivers, I use it with Galleria's driver, and/or another one, I
think, the Impos one.

CopyShop can use (in my exp.) most other scanner drivers
whilst CS/2 is probably the best scanning app I;ve used (Paul Balme did a
gret job with it),
scanos2 is probably the second worst scanner driver I've ever used.

in my experience, on just about any system I tried, scanos2 sucks CPU
cycles dry.

No i meant you dont need scanhp1.sys - but rather select scanos2.sys

with a "/n" parameter after scanos2.sys it will boot even if the scanner is off.

Although IMHO Impos/2 and Tame/2 are ways better.

scanos2.sys and the matching hpscaner.dll for using some programs in
winos2. Ols horses of course.

I haven't seen Tame/2, but, Impos is totally different purpose than CS/2

like, try scanning 50 pages, both sides, then either print or fax,
annotate, store

with CS/2, PMfax and ADF it's a child's play

ofcourse, doing other work with CS/2 is possible but tedious

CS/2 was primary meant for photocopying work, the extra bits'n'pices
beyond that came when Paul licenced the Ulead image library and included
that in ater CS/2

sorry, but the Danmar driver just sucks, it was crap from the day it was
compiled, and, Dan Desoto sp? was not interested in fixing it

in all fairnes, though, there was one other scanning app, from Canada, the
name escapes me right now, that was even bigger crap that the Danmar
driver

Never succeeded in CS/2 having working with ADF. Care to elaborate a bit
on the matter?

Herwig Bauernfeind [ (what a name = Bauernfeind = enemy of the
countryman :-) ]wrote an excellent rexx command file to launch automated
ADF scans with Tame/2 version 1.00. It's indespensable.
It's worth the while to try it out.

btw: it's now in the middle of the night at yours, isn't it? - (just
curious)

I use CS/2 with HP's ADF: IIp+ADF, 3C+ADF
it just works

it probably would be if I didn't have CS/2
as it is, I don't have Tame nor even Sane...

then again, perhaps I had sane since I've started using CopyShop/2...?
