Subject: Better fonts at higher resolution ??

Hi All,

Having just got my Optima 17" monitor back from repair
(great deal at AUS$168 from Dick Smiths Electronics by the
way) - it'd blown the PSU. I now get back from using a 15"
IBM screen (1024 x 768) to using this "giant" at 1280 x 1024
and as well as things being clearer, the shape of text
characters has also changed.

I am still using the same graphics card and Scitech SNAP
driver, at the same refresh rate and colour depth so why
should the shape of characters change simply by increasing
resolution ? Clarity yes, but actual shape ??

Has anyone else had this experience when change resolution
of their monitor ?

Cheers/2

Ed.
