My Audio ID is set to -1, I don't know the significance of this - it may be the default but it seems to work for me as I get audio from those DVDs that I can get to play. It may be significant that I use the "de-facto standard" audio card - Sound Blaster Live - using UniAud drivers.

You may want to post this question on the Warpmedia list at

WarpMedia at yahoogroups dot com

That list covers WarpMedia in general, not just the WarpMedia product and this includes warpVision and running windows media programs via ODIN etc.

Bob, Ed

I haven't (as yet) tried your strings, as, last night, the modem connected
OK on the 1st attempt (before I downloaded mssg with setup strings) , now
that I downloaded the mssg, I'll try it later today

meanwhile, I've plugged another same brand/type modem to another PC,
another location, as is, with defualt InJoy setup, it connected happily at

Modem connect.: CONNECT 49333

so, I'll take this modem with me to try, as well as, the strings you and Ed
suggested, and, I';; also check my MDF connection, (whilst waiting for the
MODLS or whatever Tesltra calls the modem test

in fact, as we recently put in a new Krone and a new 50 pair from the main
MDF to the sub, I might transfer my line on to the new Krone/new 50 pair

FWIW, this WebExcel, even though, the box is ticked for AUS, is configured
for US, the printed docs don't say how to change

Subject: Latest SWC Web Browser - urgent

Hi All,
Rapidly running out of time with my SWC subscription [final] and noticed
the following in the OS/2 SIG report for March:

    Latest News
    Major software releases recently:
    eCS version 1.1
    Lotus Smartsuite 1.7.1 for OS/2
*IBM Web Browser based on Mozilla 1.3*
    Mozilla v1.3b
    Phoenix 0.5 ("Mozilla-lite") for OS/2

I am currently using the IBM Web Browser V2.0 (based on Mozilla 1.0.1 -
Gecko 20020919), and am unable to locate anything dated [MDY] later
than 09/26/02 on the SWC pages.

Can anyone point me to a later SWC version?
[I've updated my SDD/SE to the April issue of SNAP/SE for IBM V.213]

Simply changing the Audio Language to "English, American" was enough to do it.

Thank you.

Looking at the SWC page I see

http://techsupport.services.ibm dot com/asd-bin/doc/en_us/catalog.htm

no mention of a new version of the IBM Browser, perhaps it's not released yet ?

Why not simply download Mozilla 1.4a from

ftp://ftp.mozilla dot org/pub/mozilla/releases/mozilla1.4a/mozilla-os2-gcc-1.4a.zip

Great news !

By the way there is a new of the GUI version of Warp vision, released just a couple of
days ago (23/4).

Seems to run fine.

For those who haven't found the "new multimedia resource for OS/2" yet, it's at:

http://www.laemmlin dot net/mirror/wvgui/wvgui20030423.zip

Hi Ed,
At least I'm not the only one who can't find a reference to the IBMWB
based on Mozilla 1.3!
I haven't yet attempted to use the Mozilla versions per se, as I have
been very happy with the current SWC version, and wanted to get the
latest available there prior to my May subscription terminating. I'll
be sticking with eCSUp in future. Are there any downsides with the
Mozilla version relative to the IBM version?

Hi Daryl,
That's what I _used_ to think about external SERIAL modems, Until I
bought an Aopen 56K-V90 - forget the model #[see through shell], but it
only works with a provided [Windows] driver (at least with Injoy
terminal window/dialler), so not all are full hardware modems. Replaced
it with a D-Link DFM-560E 56K-V.90[V.92 flashable]external serial, which
IS a full hardware modem.

Hi Ed,
At least one of the new V.92 features is the availability of
call-waiting-on-the-modem, i.e. you can suspend a modem connection to
take an incoming voice call, then resume modem connection. Also from
your experience it appears that the telco throttling of V.90-56K to 53K
has been lifted on V.92?

Hi Ed,
Am working backwards in the list - big backlog.
Very,Very,Very BAD move to put the &Wx strings in there - unless you
want to burn out the NVRAM in the modem. It can only be rewritten about
1000 times before the NVRAM is stuffed! This could happen over a short
period of time if using dial on demand!

Hi

If anyone wants the latest IBM Browser based on Mozilla v1.3x
send me a private email, I will also require some verification
that you have SWC, or eCS v1.1 access.

Hmm, how to do that ?

Ask your eCS distributer to send me an email, or I'll work on
the honour system in regards to SWC subscriptions, I have
a fair idea from keeping track of the various mailing lists
and newsgroups.

Personally, I would advise you to stick with Mozilla, there
really isnt much difference now apart from the logos etc.
