Update to that last post.

MSN people finder reports cookies disabled anyway no matter what cookie settings

That was me, I no longer work for Altech Computers who import the
mobos.
Look at:

Ed Durrant purchased a SL-75DRV5 from me when I was working at Altech &
it works very well with OS/2. There are a few minor quirks, since
Soltek only test their mobos with Windoze.

Subject: [os2genau] Starbase and Read only files???

Hi all,

I've been using Starbase (staroffice 5.1a) to set up a client database. I've backed up
the database files onto cd, however now when I restore the files the form I created will
only work when the attribute to the data file is set to read only. Changing this so I can
add data crashes staroffice with out any messages. Anyone know why this is and if
there is a fix?

PS. I've already downloaded and applied a fix listed on Sun's support page for another
problem with starbase and it seems to be the only one listed.

Cheers
G

As a matter of fact, it's already discontinued now. Even so important:

***
Microsoft is also bringing on board key members of the Connectix team to continue moving these products forward.
*****

Meaning Flash/2 has reached his end of life too. For M$ won't allow his "key members" brought "onboard" to work on
anything else than M$ stuff. And as a matter of fact, Innotek now is nothing more than an empty box.

"moving forward" he... <BG>

According to a (FAQ) link from the page Ian has posted - ie at

http://www.microsoft dot com/windowsserver2003/evaluation/faqs/virtualizationfaq.mspx

Microsoft purchased Virtual Server, Virtual PC for Windows and Virtual PC for MAC - there is no mention of them purchasing Virtual PC for OS/2.

What can we read into this ???

Cheers/2

Could it be how you backed up to CD and restored the files.

The best way is to package them in someway - ZIP is as good as anything, in that way
EAs and attribute bytes remain as they should be.

If you simply copied the files to a CD (via Windoze perhaps), the EAs are lost and
the attribute bit is set to read only (can't write to a CD).

Any chance of repeating the exercise but using OS/2 zip and unzip and then just writing the
ZIP file to the CD ??

Cheers/2

Boy, this is disgusting.

Does he say VPC for OS/2 will be continued? Does he say There will be a version 6 of
Flash for OS2?

> everything will continue the way it is...

Just means everything is moving to M$ the way is was planned.

You better had ask him about the meaning of this at the *INNOTEK* site:

So, what does he really mean when saying "continuing the way ways it is"? Rather
obvious , isn't it, as all the programmers but one have moved to M$. The but one is
Markus Minkowsky, who has his own firm now.

BTW: We've met Mr Stein at WarpStock Arnhem, where he had been fooling us for 3 days.

Disgusting!

Dear Ed, you really should do better:

Whithin 6 months there will be no VPC for OS/2 anymore, and probably much sooner.
