Hi John,

my apologies for sending this to you but my system at home does not have a
currently working internet connection. I need some help so I was wondering
if you would mind sending this onto the os/2 list for me, or even suggest
something to help, either way.

I use Injoy to connect to the internet. When I try to connect to the
internet and once the dialling/handshaking is complete, no data is going any
way - in or out. Consequently, weasel is rejecting any mail we try to send
out, and of course, nothing to see as the browser (Mozilla 1.4) receives,
and seems to send, nothing.

Any hints as to what may be wrong, as I suspect it is something in my setup
of perhaps TCP/IP, or even of Injoy setup, I just don't know and I'm losing
a lot of time on it.

Once again, apologies, as I do not have the os/2 list address with me,

Thanks,
Glenn Montgomery

Do you have your DNS servers correctly setup in Injoy ?
ie

Can you ping or browse to 210.8.201.181

Gee's I'm going well today....

ping 204.152.186.140

you want to see if it works with IP's to rule out a routing problem.

Thanks all

physical memory is not the problem, but some program has obviously run amok.
Problem appears to have started when I was playing with the "SWAPPATH = " line of
config.sys, but it must be deeper than that.
Presently SWAPPER.DAT properties shows it as 2Gigabyte file on a 1.5Gigabyte
partition.
I'll have to find the rogue program.

Hi Alan

Install http://www.os2site dot com/sw/util/system/sysinfo0820.zip

easiest way to check memory usage, there are smaller programs
but this one uses the theseus DLL's, and I find its more accurate.

I get a negative with all of those pings - but nslookup works :-)

I had exactly the same problem, it drove me nust for days.

Anyway what I did that overcome the problems follows

All files mentioned are in c:\MPTN\ETC\ directory

Firstly there is the ppp0.log file. It logs what happens in the ppp0
interface.

Files dhcpcd.cfg & dhcpcd.tcp. I appended the following two lines of
text to both files

clientid denny ( your client id)
interface ppp0

Also I created a pap secrets file, I know it's not required, but I did
it anyway

Create a file named Pap.Sct andput the following two lines in, tab seperated

#client server secret acceptible local ip address
userid * password

using your userid and password

Now I'm assuming that you are not running a home LAN, I disabled mine to
get the internet back up, and so have not got around to trying to get
the LAN running too.

But try what I've said above, and if that doesn't work I'll have to dig
deeper and see if there are differences in my InJoy settings.

Regards

Dennis
