I did some checking with Mensys about Warp4 and WSeb. They recommend all
customers buy eComStation. Mensys has some customers that are still
buying Warp4 or WSeb. Mensys still gets Warp4 and WSeb directly from
IBM. They are NOT scourging through surplus stores.

Yes, it is ridiculous. What is it you are trying to prove.

IBM probably has more than one person named Armando Flores. Serenity
also deals with Mr Flores in Austin.

Yes, IBM does not promote OS/2. IBM has lots of products that they sell
but spend no money to promote.

But IBM DOES still sell OS/2 and they do offer OS/2 support for a fee.
Dealers like Mensys get OS/2 product direct from IBM.
Serenity pays IBM a fee for support.

Subject: [os2genau] Slippage

While not directly OS/2 related a lot of us have to work in mixed or total
Microsoft environments so I thought this new snippet might be of interest:

Recently at their WinHEC conference, Microsoft fleshed out their current
plans for new OS releases. The follow-on product to Windows XP code-named
"Longhorn" will now be released in 2004, and the new Windows .NET Server
product (the follow-on to Windows 2000 Server) won't be available now until
early 2003. Of course, there's been a great deal of slippage already of
these plans, so we can only guess when these products will *actually* come
out . . . .

You can read more about this at
http://www.eweek dot com/article/0,3658,s=701&a=25620,00.asp

As far as I know, the termination of support date for Win NT server has not
been moved to correspond with these dates. Normally two versions of an OS
are supported by Microsoft - the Current (in the present case Win2000
Server) and the previous - presently Win NT 4 server.

Probably? If this person exist, just present his email address. (btw: atibm dot net is
history for almost 2 years now.

No they don't. Mensys catalogue is filled with non obtainable items, but the could
have some old copies on their shelf.

Nevertheless, Big Blue doesn't PROMOTE OS/2 anymore, and as a matter of fact they
don't since 1996 already.

If you would want to prove otherwise, you've to do better than digging up old horses.

>

That's exactly my point. The only way now to purchase is to purchase an eCS copy, and
eCS is far from a huge success. Instead of making new users, we are loosing users.
Also because IBM is promoting now Linux to new users. For new users, OS/2 doesn't
exist anymore as far as IBM is concerned.

Face the facts!

If you are claiming there is another one, why you just don't give his email address? Why
you just don't give us the link to this OFFICIAL <G> statement? ( Yes, I'm sure is was
OFFICIAL about 8 years ago).

like the old joke, potential and reality: "Dad, what's the difference
between...'

potentially, there are many/several/plenty A F;
and, potentially, they all work on OS/2 marketing,
and, potentially...

in reality, IBM's whois says there 1 only:

{the joke was a lot funnier, fwiw, albeit, NOT poli-corr., hence, I will not recount it here}
