This is available on CD (I saw it today at Impact Records in Civic, Canberra).
Is there something wrong with the remastered CD version?

Just interested as I have picked up the following Hawkwind CDs:
Doremi Fasol latido
The hall of the mountain grill
In search of space
Live Chronicles

All sound pretty damn good to me.

I never saw Hawkwind but I did see lenny (Motorhead) :-)

Yes, it doesnt sound like the original :-(
I like those two da-da-da-da passages that start after the silence
on the original version, use to really rock the house with the subwoofers.

Got all of those but they are like modified versions of the
original records, and I even ordered The hall of the mountain grill
from CDNOW an didnt get the right one.

They are 'ok', they miss the clarity, and the old live show warmth
(called window shattering bass), some are more like warmup
sessions.

>I never saw Hawkwind but I did see lenny (Motorhead) :-)

personally I think Lenny belongs back with Hawkwind, Motorhead
is ok but ..... its all personal taste.

I really wish I had all my original records !

The sad thing about Windows bashing is it's all true.

PS

in regards to the original problem, I returned the CD and
was given a refund, they dont seem to care that I couldnt
play it.

I've been reading up more on Microsofts DRM
(Digital something Management), just another form of
world domination and control. Between them and Sony, I
think we are going to see some messy stuff over the next
two years. Lets hope that the consumer will win.

Cheers

Yes - they all have been "remastered".

The extra/bonus tracks often are - especially on Uriah Heep CDs

When my house gets extended and my record player is situated on a
concrete slab I will play records again - it has been a while since
I could play a record without someone stepping on a floorboard
and making the record skip :-(

My record player even has suspension. Ariston RD11 Superieur with Moving
coil cartridge. I have never been able to afford a Linn Sondek LP12.
Someone stole some of my record collection about two months ago - it
just happened to be the box with G to J - Ian Gillan and .. Hawkwind
being in that box :-(
