Has anyone actually got Mozilla to work with anything useful like:

http://www.anz dot com dot au
http://www.ezybanking dot com dot au
http://www.adelaidebank dot com dot au

I've run mzplugin & then copied npoji6.dll into my mozilla\bin\plugins
directory.
When I try to access the banking pages it either crashes or times out.

Hi all

I have setup an Australian leg of the eCS IRC network at
irc.ecs-site dot com

If you are using a firewall, it only requires ports
6667 and 7000

Also, for those interested, someone has let there domain
ecssite dot com lapse so I have grabbed it, so I now have
os2site dot com and ecssite dot com (as well as ecs-site dot com)
ecs-site dot com now simply points at ecssite dot com but the irc
network is still on ecs-site dot com, just to confuse.

I can help a bit for those interested but I'm not an IRC
type of guy.

Cheers

Works ok with CBA, Westpac, and NAB :-)
But then I'm also using IBM WebBrowser v1.2.

>When I try to access the banking pages it either crashes or times out.

If you reinstall Java v1.3 it will copy the relevent files to the Netscape
(possibly Moz as well) directory for you. I cant remember if the ones you
mentioned are the correct ones or not.

From WebBrowser read.me

"If possible, install Web Browser before you install
the Java plug-in; if not, refer to section 3.8.2 "Installing
the Java Plug-in After Installing IBM Web Browser
for OS/2" of the IBM OS/2 Warp Developer Kit, Java 2 Technology

Could it be that these sites are not running Java 1.3 yet. Do you recall
the warning when installing Java 1.3? It says something about not
recommending you use v1.3 as your default Java machine coz some sites,
using previous versions, tend to crash on it. It's just a suggestion.
It could be a Windoze thing, but I'm pretty sure that ANZ at least runs
OS/2. (My branch does.) btw, so does Bendigo Bank. I crashed one of
their ATMs recently, and as it rebooted there's the good ol' Warp4 splash
screen.

W4W (Word 4 Word) is 1 of those 3rd party parts. Not withstanding that,
they could release their (DeScribe inc) code and allow some of the many
talented OS/2 guys on the globe to fill in the frilly bits.

As long as you have the correct libpaths etc it should run fine :-
You could also try placing the java11 statements BEFORE the java13
statements except in LIB and INCLUDE.

LIBPATH=C:\JAVA13\JRE\DLL;C:\JAVA11\DLL;

SET PATH=C:\OS2WEB;C:\NETSCAPE\PROGRAM;C:\JAVA13\BIN;C:\JAVA11\BIN;

SET
CLASSPATH=C:\IBMGSK\CLASSES\SRIP.JAR;C:\IBMGSK\CLASSES\SGUIDE.ZIP;C:\IB
MGSK\CLASSES\CSSGKEY.JAR;C:\JAVA11\LIB\SecMa.jar;C:\java11\Swing\swingall.jar;C:\
java11\lib\classes.zip;.\.;C:\OS2\JAVAAPPS\LVMGUI.ZIP;C:\TCPIP\java;
SET SWING_HOME=C:\java11\Swing

SET
INCLUDE=.;C:\WATCOM\H\OS2;C:\WATCOM\H\SYS;C:\WATCOM\H;C:\JAVA13\INCL
UDE;

SET LIB=C:\JAVA13\LIB;

Bendigo upgraded from OS/2 v2.11 ? I've been out of this business
to long.
Most likely cause of a OS/2 reboot on an ATM is mechanical, ie,
the note counter motor is stuffed so it draws to much power,
overloading the PowerSupply. Or someone like me has just made
config changes and hit the reset switch :-)

Hello

I have installed this little system resource thingy that tells me about my memory,
swap and threads and processes.... all OK but the Number of Processes often
climbs to 40 or 42 and then it turns red!!! This means warning... but I am blowed if I
know what its warning me about!!

I have more than enough threads but the 'processes' number is a worry!

means, you haven't given it *enough* work !

install some more apps, it's underworked

my pc has:

There are 53 Processes with 149 Threads.

web server has:

There are 73 Processes with 235 Threads.

486 fax/sms server has:

There are 60 Processes with 154 Threads.

over last 12 month,
my web server averaged:

Max Processes: 109 (10.6%) Average Processes: 84 (8.2%) Current Processes: 85 (8.3%)
Max Threads: 291 (28.4%) Average Threads: 245 (23.9%) Current Threads: 249 (24.3%)

40 processes ? is anything running on it ?
give it more, make it work,

Graham,
Are you running the utility on your server?
If so then the process count will be high as
Apache pre-allocates a pool of connection processes.
On a stand a lone OS/2 machine 40 is a lot of processes
but this is quite conservative for a server.

No the utility is on my Thinkpad, I tend to avoid 'fiddling' and unnecessary whiz
bang thingys on the server!

My thinkpad is usually running

1	Voice Type Dictation
2	Speech Advantage medical (3 modules)
3	Describe
4	PMFax LAN
5	PMMail
6	Mozilla

and more recently I have been using Virtual PC for OS2 running NT but tend to turn
this off when not need,,,

I have 256 RAM Pentium III 650MHz and think I will go to the max if I want to use the
Virtual PC more constantly... (ie 512Mb)

and as the day progresses so the processes

Graham,
As I said I would not worry about 40 processes, there
is probably some configuration for the tool that you can
use to set the warning threshold higher than 40.

As an example the Notes server here runs with about
170 process all day.

What is the program you are using?

I have 256 RAM Pentium III 650MHz and think I will go to the max if I want
to use the

It's ANZ.Com (not com.au) and it works fine.

Works well with http://www.macquarie dot com dot au ...and with stock-standard
install and settings. All banking functions operational however there is
one account selection page that fails to display account information - I
just happen to know the right radio button to press.

Subject: [os2genau] System freeze at boot-up

I have had system lock-ups during the boot process that have required a
hard system re-set to proceed. After exhaustive checking of drivers and
hardware I finally discovered (by accident) that the problem was/is
caused by having no media present in a Ricoh MP7163A CD-RW drive. The
lock-up appears to occur during a secondary interrogation of the drive
some time after the EIDE driver and associated filters have loaded in
successfully. I have since also noticed occasional total system lock-up
with no keyboard or mouse access following media eject. When this
happens, not only is the system unresponsive but the drive unit becomes
locked regardless of whether the tray is retracted or not.

My system also has a Ricoh MP7060A CD-RW and an Acer 12x DVD drive.
Neither of these units create this problem. The problem only occurs when
using Warp / eCS. It does not occur under W$2000/XP or Linux, so I
suspect a driver problem.

I have tried using the FORCE switch and other options in DaniS506.add &
Daniatap.flt etc without success. This has me stumped.

Can anyone suggest a reason or cure for this outrageous misbehaviour
before I send a pestering query off to Daniela Engert?

Regards,

Alan Whitehead

Before sendiong a note to Daniela, I'd suggest you try the following tasks:

1. upgrade system bios to latest available
2. upgrade drive firmware to latest available
3. Move drive onto a different eide channel or change it from slave to
master
   (DO NOT use cable select).
4. Make sure there is not "gap" in the chain. ie don't have only one drive
on
the primary IDE and then connect this drive as master on the secondary
ide.
5. Try to standard IBM EIDE drivers (latest version).

Any one of ther above could be causing the problem.

Cheers/2
