  <note>Very old.

One other overall thing. You have Sorceian listed on the Sierra page.
Sorcerian was a RPG/Action game that was produced by Game Arts of Japan.
They were also the company that produced Thexder, Thexder 2 and Silpheed.
It was released about 1988.

Sorcerian (Sierra). "Copyright (C) NIHON-FALCOM 1987, 1990

Roland and a few other soundcard support. CGA/EGA/Tandy/PCjr? EGA for sure.

"Heroes of the Lance" slpptes senare (1991) som budgetspel frn
"Kixx". Det fanns ven till Amstrad (vet tyvrr inte modellen bara att
det recencerades av "Amstrad Action") och Amiga (ven p CD-ROM med
extra grafik). Det verkar som om det skrevs av SSI (Strategic

En recention finns p

Spelet ingr i samma serie som "Curse of the Azure Bonds" och "Pool of

Frgan r om de inte r mer av rollspel egentligen eftersom de r en
officiell AD&D release.

As I recall it was sort of an RPG intended for the younger set and was
released in the mid-1980's for only the Commodore and Apple ][.

Xyphus--
<game>Xyphus
  <year>1984
  <by>Skip Walker
  <by>Dave Albert

released by Penguin circa 1983-1984
rereleased by Polarware circa 1986
really an RPG
from catalogue "Create a band of up to four characters: elf, dwarf, or human,
and set out in search of the evil Lord Xyphus."

The Comprehend version contains a map/poster.

for:

Apple ][
C-64/128

Other non-arcade Penguin/Polarware games include the following (if you want
full info on them, I'll be happy to add them):

Sword of Kadash
Expedition Amazon (really role playing)

There's some other titles not on the list, if you want them added.
Wrath of Denethenor (which was really an Ultima-RPG clone) by Sierra.

I'm glad to see you mentioned the TI-994/A is mentioned on your
adventure game list. But you forgot one major game. TUNNELS OF DOOM!
This was THE best RPG ever made for it, which has tremendous
replayability. It was made by TI themselves which is a shock. Usually
the companies who make the comupters do awful in making their own games.

Subject: New game coming from Gameworld Internet Club

Hello! I stumbled on your site just now and thought I'd
send you a writeup on one of our new games we'll be adding
to our game lineup upon launch.

We'd love to swap links with you, if you're interested. You
can pull one of our icons from our site's link section --

In the meantime, hope you like reading our little teaser...

One can slip loose from the hand of Death, but the grasp of
Azraith is forever.
   --Rathman the Younger, water warrior

Band together online with other brave explorers wielding
magic and blade to battle the minions of the Evil Lord
Azraith. As a Wizard, Warrior, or Priest, you have been
recruited by the Order of Red Moon Warriors. Defend the
region of Kaerlings Landing. Defeat Azraiths schemes to
return to destroy the earth spirit Gaia, and prevent the
very land from being corrupted to serve his evil desires.

Youd think that saving the land by the thinnest of
margins should result in the fattest of purses.
--Battle complaint of Jabbuk, pattern wizard and Red Moon
Warrior

As the minions of Azraith spread chaos, despair and fear
throughout the land, Azraiths power grows. With so many
foes the team must choose wisely. Strike at the goblins
infesting the road taverns, the demon knight in the mountain
village, or the shades manifested near the glimmer tree?
Kill the possessed hero Nadim, or exorcise the evil spirit
at great risk?
Can you meld heroic spirits, brave hearts and daring tactics
into a heroic team which will be ready to face Azraith in
the final conflict?

Jabbuk no whining, more killing or I feed you to the
mudworm.
--Klarina, light priestess and exasperated Red Moon
Warrior

Azraith Rising RPG is a online role playing game for 2 to 4
players. Coming soon at the Gameworld Internet Club
(www.gameworld.com).

Ring of Darkness - Wintersoft. Large, Advanced Dungeon & Dragons type
game i.e. move a character round an overhead view of a landscape &
through dungeons etc. Spread over several programs on one tape.
Available for Dragon & Oric, possibly others. Had a bigger sequel called
Return Of The Ring released on the Dragon possibly on other machines.

Like you said, the lines for determining what is and what is not
an adventure game are pretty vague, but if you include Sierra's Quest for
Glory series, I think you should also include this game. Yes, it has some
role-playing elements to it, but for most intents and purposes this game
is just an adventure game >with< those elements--it isn't primarily
>about< roleplaying.

Subject: Finding an old piece of software!
Date: Fri, 19 Dec 1997 07:11:13 PST

Dear Hans,

I am looking for a piece of software that is probably over 8 years old
by now. Its title is "Legend of Farghail". It has the "reLine
Software" logo on the manual but when I sent them an E-Mail they said
that the copywright was held by Softgold GmbH. I did not find the name
of this software in your listing so I thought I would send you this
letter and aks if you know where it is, where I can find it, or
if there are even any copies left. This software is for the Amiga 4000
computer that I have. This was one of the first games that I can
remember that had an install to HD that came with it. It was used
very much back in the later 1980's and after going over my old software
I found the game and tried to install it. The install went fine but
when running the program it does not work correctly when in
some areas. I tried playing it from the disks but it wasn't working for
that either. I would like to get back into this Adventure/Role playing
game and would appreciate any help you could give me.
Please E-Mail me back at peter_kargenian@hotmail.com and let me
know.

Thanks
Pete Kargenian

From: Rubywand <rubywand@swbell.net>

Publisher: SoftSide

Game: SuperQuest

Type: 'Text graphics' maze adventure; written by Jeff Hurlburt and released
on disk by SoftSide in 1983

Runs on: Apple II

Notes: SuperQuest uses the Text screen to display each of over 1000 maze rooms.
The adventurer, treasure chests, and monsters show as individual Text
characters. Lo-res graphics are used for a few special screens.

It is the distant future and the balance between Science and Magic has
slipped to such an extent that few 'scientific devices' will function.
Your objective is to make your way through an ancient maze to the fabled "Mega
Crown". Lifting it will release rays which will restore the balance.

Your character can be a Dwarf, Human, Elf, or Hobbit. This sets basic
attributes (Strength, Dexterity, Toughness, ...). Attributes improve with
experience and the use of potions. Game saves are allowed in the Bazaar near
the maze entrance and in three hospices located somewhere inside the maze.
These places are also where you sell treasure and buy weapons, armor, etc..
