Yes, but the cable is 50 ohm coax, roughly the size of RG-8, with N
connectors.

Indeed.  If you have BNC connectors, then you have 10Base2
("Thinnet").  And the thing on the end is a terminator, not a
reflector -- its job is to PREVENT reflections...
