Woo, I forgot about the roadrunner.  A 386i-written filesystem will
quite likely be little-endian.  (While I haven't actually checked, I
don't think Sun had endianness-independent UFS.  But it's not too
implausible that they had always-byteswapped-UFS support on the 386i,
for compatability with 68k/SPARC filesystems.)
