The obscure Wang 3300 took around 40 minutes to get it into BASIC.  I 
couldn't believe these numbers myself but I have had multiple first hand 
  accounts, including from a Wang sales guy, that it was true.  It took 
longer if there was a read error, which wasn't too infrequent, and you 
didn't know it until the end of those 40 minutes.   It was a multi-step 
tape loading process.
