When my father (an IBM employee) brought home an IBM 5100 on the
weekends back in about 1975, there was a program that drove the line
printer to play an extended version of the William Tell Overture.  This
was an IBM program, though probably not 'official', that almost
certainly was written by someone at IBM.

I think it was written in BASIC since all it was was a series of PRINT
commands.
