I guess I was the lucky one.  Mine arrived all in one piece.  It was 
strapped to a pallet, padded all the way around, and had the 
lock-down bolt in place.  It came to S.C. via FedEx Freight, and
I met the driver and carefully transferred the pallet from his 
18 wheeler to the back of my truck.  When I arrived home, I 
carefully unloaded it, undid the lock-down bolt, plugged it in and
tested it, and it worked fine.
