Eagle CAD makes it easy, I just created my first gerbers and excellon 
drill files last Friday, it took 10 minutes, and a quick scan through 
the help file.  I can help you with step by step if yu use EAGLE.

I tried gEDA suite, but it's just not there yet, in my opinion.  EAGLE 
was easier for me to use, and the rice was right.
