I never shipped anything very heavy with it.  I think that would be
ill-advised, but the same is true with styrofoam peanuts.  It was an
experiment and it proved to be labor-intensive to pop up enough kernels
to ship anything larger than a shoebox in size.  Useful for shipping,
say, a wineglass.

If you search the web regarding shipping packages using popcorn, there
was a big noisy controversey a few years back with some librarians who
were FURIOUS because somebody had shipped them books using popcorn as
packing.  I would imagine in large-scale shipping operations, it would
attract rodents and other vermin.
