Hi Eric
 It seems like there is a reset signal in my HP
that is related to the battery back-up being connected.
I believe that one could hold this line long enough
to load a high speed RAM from a slower EPROM.
I'm not sure which levels of HP's this line exist
in but before I realized it was the lack of the resistor
in the connector, I traced it down some.
 If one was going to make such a ucode loader, holding
the machine in the reset should work.
