Never underestimate the eagerness of manufacturers to use utterly off
the wall non-standard connectors.  (Ditto with screws -- why the heck
are Japanese Phillips screws different from real Phillips screws?)

My Nikon 880 camera has a USB connector with a shell that's roughtly
the shape of the letter D, with a small bump in the middle of the
straight side.
