memory.  If you clock it from a signal generator you'll quickly find where it
begins to fall apart, as the SYNC signal will no longer be a clean repetetive
pulse   I found it quite common that an old "1 MHz" 6502 from MOS Technology
would run much faster.  In one case, an old white ceramic part, the CPU
happily ran at as much as 12-15 MHz in the speed test, and at up to 9 MHz from
fast RAM.  However, it would eventuall tire of this and fail, and subsequently
require it be left in conductive foam for a couple of weeks, at which time it
seemed to be OK again.  I still have that part, BTW, and it still wants a
two-week layoff once it fails.
