Lets face all countries have their share of good and bad strengths
however in the field of SPACE remember PRIDE was a big factor
that worked both ways. I wonder what would have happened if
the USA and USSR had worked together in space?
Only today are we starting to get over the goverment... err miltiary
control of air-space so people can get into space.
