new find: an Intel MDS 800

That just totally cooked my brain :-)

'series 1' was just a name I made up because I don't think that the
blue-cased machine we have is a series II or III, so it was just a
logical guess. Trust Intel to prove me wrong :)

It'd be nice if the blue-cased machine was one with a 4004; I'm not sure
if we have anything with a 4004 CPU in it.
