Well, I think "low cost" is relative. While PDP-8s were low cost in their
day, they were still pretty much out of the reach of most individuals.

Hell, I am all for talking about PDP-8 stuff* - just not Linux. Talking
about modern day Linux issues on this list is only a little more on topic
that talking about mushroom hunting. 

* as long as other vintage OSs get some share - GCOS anyone?
