Use test 97 in parameter P1 is the transfer speed encoded. Use test 94 to save settings in NVRAM, if you wish. A step to step procedure follows: - turn the drive offline and unload the tape (necessary step!) - press TEST and START simultaniesly. TEST and HOST LEDs should turn on - press UNLOAD until the 7 segment display reads 97 - press TEST and DENSITY SELECT simultaniesly, the display should read P0 - press RESET, the display shows your current transfer rate setting. the codes are: 00 1 MB/s 01 888 kB/s 02 800 kB/s 03 727 kB/s 04 666 kB/s 05 615 kB/s 06 571 kB/s 07 533 kB/s 08 500 kB/s 09 470 kB/s 0A 400 kB/s 0B 320 kB/s 0C 250 kB/s 0D 200 kB/s 0E 160 kB/s 0F 60 kB/s - press START or UNLOAD until you get your desired transfer speed - press TEST the display should change P1 - press RESET - repeat these two steps, toggeling through P2 to P7, until the display read 00 - press UNLOAD until the display reads 94, selecting test 94 - press TEST and DENSITY SELECT simultaniesly, to execute test 94 - press TEST, to leave test-mode After that you should have your tape drive permanently at a new transfer speed. reards, Dietmar
