NNTP instead of mail

It is all about configuration. I could configure my mail client to 
delete all messages that are over 2 months old, however it is the 
default that all mail messages are kept. I can just as easily tell my 
news reader to ignore it's default setting and keep messages forever 
and/or copy them to a separate local archive folder so I can look back 
whenever I want.
