On that note, I -believe- there exists a plugin of some sort for
phpbb2 that allows the board to follow a mailing list and mirror the
conversations in a threaded form. I'm not sure about the details, but
I know a few of my usenet and redhat mailman posts have ended up in
their entirety on SEO link farms.  It would be a one-way link, though.
