My ESR meter is designed to work in-circuit. I can't say enough good about 
this one, it's an improved version of the Bob Parker design, and reasonably 
priced. I was a little concerned about ordering for Portugal, but I was 
quite happy with the transaction as well. So... no desoldering required.
