Linux and growth of Internet

Some dated Pico-factoids from me:

First home Internet connection:
   PC486Win3.1 running 1994 Spry software,
   "Internet-in-a-box" over long distance dial-up!
usually begun after 11:00 pm, for cost purposes.

First copy of Linux: Yggdrasil, same time.

First home ISP: Public Access Networks (Panix NY)
   running on Suns.

The Spry stuff was pretty decent. It did cooperative
multitasking better than Microsofts own stuff.
Of course it did, what am I saying?
