I seem to recall Mac fans taunting me about how easy MacTCP was to setup, but I'm not clear on the timing for that... -- Apple introduced MacTCP in Oct, 1988. NCSA, UofM, and Stanford packages were available before that. Primary applications were Telnet, FTP, Mail of various flavors and Gopher.
