Why are transistors called "Q"?

Rumor has it that James Fogg may have mentioned these words:

Offtopically, but not nearly so as in the past few "discussions"[1]:

Q is a measurement of Ham Radio antennae -- altho just perzactly what it's 
supposed to measure I'm not 100% sure. (I'm sure I could google for it...)

I do know that I have a Heathkit "Q" measuring device in my basement...

Maybe there's something similar WRT transistors?

Altho the gizmo isn't a computer, at least it's +10 years old... ;-)
