IRIX install on 4D/25

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I had difficulty figuring out 
how to get IRIX to install on my 4D/25 (PROM 3.2/July 1989) from a 5.3 CD-ROM. 
4DFaq's suggestion didn't work, but it turns out that SASH from at least 5.3 
has a workaround: load sash (boot -f dksc(0,X,8)sash.IP6) and then type 
"install" . Voila-CDROM pops up as an option alongside tape.
