Simply put, when you reply to an existing message you leave the old message 
at the bottom and type your reply at the very top. It's inconvenient, messy, 
etc.

Failure to trim the post appropriately with responses below each section is 
also a pain.

Don't feel bad, I didn't know what it was or that it was such taboo until 
fairly recently.
