Just FYI, auction laws in the UK are different from the US and price-fixing
cartels are specifically illegal.  It used to be a common scam for antiques
dealers to arrange not to bid against each other, and if (usually when) one
of them bought a lot (in competition only with Joe Punter) they would then
have a private auction of the lot or parts of it afterwards.  If they were
caught doing this they went to jail.  Not all that far from the situations
described here.

So don't do it on eBay UK folks :-)
