Now, how does this differ from an organized buyer boycott?  I sure have
trouble seeing any significant difference.

Is it just the term used (boycott versus buyer collusion)?

Is it the difference between having nothing to do with a particular
seller versus being willing to buy from that seller at a ruinously (for
the seller) low price?

Or do you feel that (say) a human-rights group organizing a boycott of
some company that uses third-world sweatshop labour, or Greenpeace
organizing a boycott of some company they see as environmentally
unsound, is just as wrong as the pearl-buyer collusion, or the
ebay-buyer collusion?

Or am I missing something else?
