I was happy to get one for $50 attached to a large Alpha server that
booted OSF/1...
no shipping, it was local...

If you need to read 9-track magtapes on a 'modern machine', it's
nice... I slapped an Adaptec 1640 in my Linux laptop and was reading
tapes a couple of minutes later.
